Choose a rug that generously holds your tables and chairs even when they are pulled out.

Don’t choose a rug that is too small for your dining room, this could also cause a trip hazard when pulling out chairs.

In a large room with a floating seating area, choose a large rug which accommodates all pieces of furniture, including front and back legs.

In smaller rooms where the sofa is up against the wall, choose a rug that seats neatly under the front two legs of the sofa as well as the coffee table.

Don’t choose a rug that is too small and only sits under the coffee table. As a guide your feet should rest on the rug when you are sat on the sofa.
